Objective

Grow organic search visibility for a US cybersecurity company among the exact buyers who evaluate and purchase access-governance software — CISOs and founders — by ranking content around Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), the categories these buyers research before shortlisting vendors.

Challenge

Access governance and IAM/IGA is one of the toughest categories in enterprise software SEO:

▸  The space is dominated by large, established platforms with deep content budgets and years of domain authority, making generic ranking a losing game for a challenger brand.

▸  The buyer group is narrow and senior — CISOs and founders — who search with specific, technical intent, so the content had to speak directly to how security leaders actually evaluate access-governance and IAM/IGA solutions, not generic security top-of-funnel topics.

▸  Visibility alone wasn’t the goal — impressions needed to convert into genuine engaged clicks from the right audience.

Approach

We built an SEO programme aimed squarely at senior security-buyer search behaviour:

▸  Persona-targeted content strategy — content mapped specifically to how CISOs and founders search and evaluate access-governance, IAM and IGA solutions, rather than broad cybersecurity topics.

▸  Technical & topical authority — in-depth, credible content on IAM/IGA concepts, frameworks and best practices to establish the site as a trustworthy resource for security leaders doing vendor research.

▸  Sustained content cadence — consistent publishing across the campaign to build compounding organic visibility in a slow-moving, high-authority category.

▸  Continuous optimisation — tracked click and impression trends over time and refined titles and targeting toward the terms senior buyers actually search.

Results

Over the seven-month campaign (Jan–Jul 2025), the site generated 21K organic clicks from 2.82M impressions at an average position of 19.4. Both clicks and impressions trended upward across the period, with daily volumes in the May–July stretch clearly outperforming the January baseline — evidence of compounding visibility being built in a notoriously difficult, authority-driven category, and increasingly reaching the CISO and founder audience the content was built for.
